Group Co-ordinators
NOTE FROM THE ALMONER
The Almoner post has been operative for some time now and I thought you might like to have an update. This position was created so that any u3a members who are sick or have an accident or are bereaved can be contacted by phone or more usually by post. The committee feel that in times of sickness etc just knowing that someone cares and is thinking of you can be of help.
During the past few months I have sent many Get Well cards and sadly, one or two Cards of Condolence. I understand from feedback that these have been well received and helpful to those people recieving them. If you know of anyone to whom you think we should send a card please contact me or any committee member.
To contact Hazel, please text (not phone) her on: 07484 209940 Hazel Perry

THIRD AGE TRUST |

Through the links on this site, you can find educational resources of a mostly non-computer nature. History, Philosophy, Art and Poetry links are there in profusion. |

National u3a |
The National u3a - the national body for u3as in the UK - owns the u3a name and logo - provides educational support (eg a huge resource bank) - provides admin support (eg setting up new u3as) - funded by annual subscriptions - promotes the u3a - publishes Third Age Matters. After you have set up a password, the u3a Resource centre has a large collection of non-book material available to all u3a groups to borrow free of charge except for the cost of return postage. There are slides, videos, cassettes, dvds and cd roms in a wide range of subjects. Individual subject lists can be obtained from the Resource Centre on request. However, the whole resource catalogue is on the web site with an ordering facility. |
The u3a divides its operations into regions - we come under the North Westregion - managed by the North West Regional Trustee. |
|
The Pennine Link is a link between local u3as. At both group and committee level the aim is to cooperate and support each other. It meets twice a year in January and June. | |
